Meeting with Thierry Carbou, DotChat Founder: Talent Emigration and Opportunities in Dubai
Interview with Thierry Carbou, expatriate entrepreneur and founder of DotChat, who shares his experience and perspectives on life and work in Dubai.
What motivated you to move from France to Dubai? Thierry Carbou: "I left France twelve years ago, mainly because of bureaucratic barriers and professional limitations on our continent. Unlike in France, where networks often prevail, here you can arrive without connections and end up meeting key influencers from around the world in just a few months."

In your opinion, why is there a migration of talent from France to Dubai? Thierry Carbou: "There is a real talent drain in France. In Dubai, no matter your age, education, or religion, everyone has a chance. Unfortunately, this is not the case in France, where your background and education can often determine your career."
What could France do to retain its talent? Thierry Carbou: "France could learn from Dubai by simplifying access to financing for startups and adopting a more meritocratic approach regarding professional opportunities."
